These are trees which may or may not be removed depending on inspection form the National Park

Cheers

Saw the green spots on the trees by the Merlin Buttress, does this mean cutting the trees down or just thinning ? IMO thinning the branches should be considered first, then see what happens ! Do you find this valuable?

Hi ya,

don't even get me started on this!! It's taken 3 years of discussion, debate, site vists and phone calls and emails to get to this point and we are still waiting for an OK from the National Park! Basically we can remove the sycamore's as they are invasive species to get some light onto the the crag. We don't want to remove them all, certainily if they are no-where near the crag they are staying and some of the big ones will stay too. The Merlin clump will bascically be thinned out to leave one or two decent sized sycamores. Don't worry it's a long way from the 'napalm project' they some climbers would like to see!

And the tree work continues this week, all looking fantastic. I'm hoping we can use the fallen timber to mark the starts of paths and close off unwanted paths and so save the need for waymarking, will try to do this next week. Do you find this valuable?
