And the tree work continues this week, all looking fantastic. I'm hoping we can use the fallen timber to mark the starts of paths and close off unwanted paths and so save the need for waymarking, will try to do this next week.

Tremadog Work day 10th January A small but very effective team gathered at Eric’s Caff on a dark and grey morning. We set to work on identifying the best approaches to climbs on Bwlch y Moch and beginning work on improving these approaches. A fantastic job was started on the main Christmas Curry approach through the woods. This path was becoming a bit of a mess which is one of the reasons (apart from being lost!) why there are so many odd paths in the woods below the crag. So it was decided to improve this path so that it become the natural ‘desire’ line up to the rock face. Some very impressive footpath work was undertaken, particularly by Mills Davis and Elfyn Jones. This path gives the best approach through the trees to all climbs between Grasper and G String. Further work will see this line delineated by felled timber and the closing off of the other random paths in the woods.
Other projects which were commenced but await the timber work to become really effective are the Valerie’s Rib approach, where felled timber is required to close off unhelpful paths and stabilising the ground below Rio.
Work will continue on these projects by a small group of locals, if anyone can offer further help at odd times then please contact us at bmccymruwales@live.co.uk . We will need some help shifting timber as it is felled by the tree surgeons.

Excellent news David and Cathy. The tree surgeons will be on the crag from 5th Jan so we should have plenty of shifting to do! Let's meet at Eric's at 9.30 am. I've put this on UKC too and circulated our local BMC Cymru email list so hopefully we'll have a good turn out.

I have almost completed an up date to Moel y Gest which will most probably be posted on this site. There are over 20 new routes varying in difficulty from Severe to E2. These and existing routes will clearly be marked on photo diagrams which should make locating routes a lot easier. If anyone has any information which could be of interest could they contact me at mikechwilog@fsmail.net Thanks Mike Lewis

The CC are now starting work on the next edition of their tremadog guide. Any thoughts, ideas, route opinions, grade changes, new routes, stars can be added on this wiki as it will be watched very closely by the authors. I for one hope their guide will be as impresive as the latest BMC offerings! But we need to give them the info...

Here's the opportunity for one of the E10 hotshots to be the first to onsight a fairly mifd range route - why hasn't it been done? - Or is everyone just afraid to put their reputation on the line for an E6 ?? !6 pints of Robinsons best to the winner, (which will definitely ensure they never manage to do it again). See me on Saturday to collect your prize. Steve McClure is excluded! .
